A sign hung inside the Tam describes it as 'the Original American Neighborhood Bar'. I couldn't agree more. The bar itself is small and dimly lit. Drinks are cheap and beer is plentiful. The mix of people is great, too. There are people of all ages, races, and social strata. The juke box is one of the best I've ever seen featuring lots of different styles from old school soul, rap, metal, reggae, ska, punk, etc. I have always found the Tam to be really friendly and fun. I recommend the $1.75 PBR bottles. If you're not pretentious and you want a great bar where you can sit with your friends and talk, this is the place. - Andy, 07/02/2002
