This back-to-basics bar is a favorite among those in the know. Friendly service and a cloud of smoke hearken back to bygone bar days. The jukebox provides something for every musical taste, including Velvet Underground, Patsy Cline, and jazz selections. Another summer cubs trip from Fla and another half dozen trips to the L and L. Scott is back behind the bar, no fruit flies in the fruit tray behind the bar, and the juke box is still tops. Best bar in the world other than Overseas Lounge in Marathon FL. - wwb, 07/21/2006
This is fast becoming my favorite bar, ever, almost even eclipsing the world famous Hub Bar in Tampa, Florida. Why the L&L rocks: 1. Great drinks; 2. Fun, friendly, unpretentious, eclectic mix of people, from the college kids to the local old-timers; 3. Friendly bartenders and fast service (he's a martini wizard); 4. The price is right; 5. A jukebox with one of the best mixes of music I've ever seen- everything from the Velvet Underground to old-school soul to Patsy Cline, etc. It's well worth searching out this hole-in-the-wall off the Belmont Red-line stop. - Joe Dennis, 08/10/2003
