My mom and her best friend started taking me and her daughter to the Baton when we were in grade school back in the `70s. I guess things were just more 'free and easy' then because Jim, the owner and mahvelous emcee, never had a problem with letting us in. We loved it! Our moms would even give us dollar bills to take to Chili Pepper (loved her nasty mouth!), Cher, and the rest of the ladies. I'm 37 now and live in Florida, and I can't wait to take my husband to the Baton when we come up for Christmas! Looking forward to a night of good old fashioned fun, girls! - Tracey J., 10/17/2000
