I have very fond memories of my many visits to the Red Lion, around 1987. Fine friends like John Cordwell, who created this pub, and his son Colin. Good English beer and cheer, plus hilarious conversations when I explained the fine points of cricket to my amazed American friends at the bar. Is my cricket ball gift still exhibited? I hope they remember me - I have lived in France since 1990. I am delighted to find the Red Lion items through Google today (8 October 2006) and that this fine pub is still thriving. This place is fantastic! One of my favorite bars in Chicago. Great atmosphere, friendly people and the outdoor patio is great! Sure there is an older crowd, but sometimes it's a nice change from college bars with 50 TVs blaring every sport on the planet. - Dave, 12/03/2002
