the RIV rocked in the 80's and early 90's. Let me tell you from first hand experience, since my family ran the club for many years. From Goerge Clinton and the P-funks to MC Hammer. The shows were great and the women even better. I met the Rolling Stones, Paula Abdul, Aerosmith and Run DMC. They took it away when my family members were arrested for various things and sent off to jail but from the memories i have it was one of the greatest clubs Chi town ever had. - mike frontera, 07/29/2003
i went to see paul oakenfold on march 31, 2000. the riv was large enough that i could either dance, chill at the bar, or sit upstairs in theater like seats. i have never been there before and it reminded me of a club, because of the numerous bars, great lighting,
and unbelievably good live music. the riv is easy to find and a great venue for any live music concerts. - lauren, 04/02/2000
