Karen, the bartender in the previous reviews, is the toughest, sweetest chick you'll find in the city. We're in there all the time, and she's the bomb. Not to mention Al and Butch, two other guys who look like know 6 different ways to snap your neck with a drink straw, who are also awesome bartenders. An antidote to trendiness. My friend has been coming here for nearly twenty-five years and i've joined him for about half of those. What a find. The waitress, as above, is wonderful, and you're likely to find interesting people and a jukebox which hasn't changed in a decade. and cheap, capacious servings of whisky. what more do you need? darts and perhaps even a toothless castaway. The selling point of this bar is the bartender, she will make you feel at home and make you laugh. Also she will remember you the next time you stop by. If you want to play darts or play pool, this is the place. They only have one pool table and two dart boards, but they are always open. Many would consider it the local 'dive' but I consider it my 'Cheers'. Also come celebrate the Assyrian New Year's Eve here (March 31st), it will be packed. If you are looking for inexpensive beer, a seat, and conversation stop by Shoe's! Also they have $4 frozen pizzas! - Kelly G, 09/13/2002
