Hip tunes, good food, fine selection of tap beers: Blue Moon, Guinness, Harp, Stella, Goose Island, and more. Juke box has tunes ranging from Black Sabbath to Stevie Wonder. Open until 2:30am Saturday. Great place to hang out.

Stop by for your morning fix of coffee, then come back at night for a great neighborhood hang amidst the locals. As the end of the night (and the week) nears, DJs help convert this spot into a laid-back lounge. Drink specials include $3 Maker's Mark drinks on Tuesdays, and $3 Margaritas on Thursdays. I've been here once, and overall it was great - good food, great drinks, not too pricey. A cool atmosphere, except for one thing: the DJ. It was a Saturday night and dance-hall music was blasting through the joint. It was just wrong - good music, but wrong for the place. Should have been jazz. I'll keep coming, but

I went to Streetside for coffee this morning. The coffee is pretty good - strong. It's also a little pricey - $2 for a 16 oz. cup! However, it's a nice setup overall. They've been doing the morning thing for three weeks now and would like to start opening Saturday mornings for an area hangout, where people can bring their laptops, etc. If that works out, they'll get a more extensive Saturday breakfast going with fritattas, no kidding! - alotta, 12/28/2001
