Detail for Zebra Lounge : Bar / Piano
Away from the hustle and bustle of Division Street's bar scene, this cozy zebra-themed hotel bar starts the night as a quiet spot for an after-work drink. Later in the evening, an eclectic clientele crowds in to hear the piano player perform classic lounge favorites. Zebra Lounge is open Mon-Fri 5 pm-2 am, Sat 5 pm-3 am, Sun 6 pm-2 am. - Alotta, 05/17/2006

It is with great sadness to report the death of Zebra Lounge piano bar singer Ruth Allyn, who died of a heart attack in her Chicago apartment on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002. She was 65. Ruth was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the daughter of Anders and Hilia (Louma) Anderson, and was raised there, graduating from Fitchburg High School in 1955. She graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois, where she earned a degree in music education. She is survived by a niece, Amy (Nichols) Scarale, and a great-nephew, Anthony Scarale, both in Massachusetts. Ruth will be missed by her fans, especially those who frequented the Zebra Lounge over the past few years. - George Mirijanian, 08/29/2002
