Asha for education presents an evening of soulful fusion of Indian classical and Western music featuring John Wubbenhorst and Facing East, on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 6.00 pm at the International House at the University of Chicago. The evening includes a stunning virtuoso performance on the flute, the most sensual instrument to have emerged from the rich music culture of India, with added layers of the guitar and topped with vocal percussions. The mesmerizing performance features songs such as Morning Gopis from their Facing East album, which was nominated for multiple awards by the Washington Area Music Association. Billboard Magazine credits John Wubbenhorst with 'setting the bansuri against backdrops that aren't traditional, revealing melodies within melodies, like a fractal design headed toward infinity.'
