Open for lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch. A feast for your eyes as well as the palate is in store in this brightly decorated, sunny Hyde Park restaurant. Expertly prepared dishes are garnished with edible orchids and other goodies. A big portion of hot, hot, jerk chicken wings is a great appetizer to share, or try the coconut-encrusted shrimp. The peach-glazed pork chops is a house specialty that receives rave reviews, or try delicious dishes such as smoked baby back ribs, West Indian chicken curry, or tilapia fillet served with crushed plantains. Be sure to save room for a fun dessert such as pineapple jump-up cake with a Montego Bay sauce of brown sugar, sour cream, and rum, or a coconut banana cream pie to die for! My family and I attended Calypso Restaurant in Hyde Park on April 12, 2003 and enjoyed it beyond words! The decor is bright and festive, we felt like we were back on our honeymoon in Jamaica. The service was friendly and prompt and



the other customers also felt the cool vibes because everyone was relaxed. It's also child-friendly. The food was out of this world and we haven't stopped talking about it since attending. I visited your establishment on 6/8/01; and the food was fabulous. I wasn't real pleased with the service, however, the beef patties and coconut shrimp made up for it. I'll definitely visit again during my next trip to Chicago. - TDavis, 06/12/2001
