Bureau Official: Are you downtown and looking for a great location to enjoy quaffs with friends? With so many other obvious choices glutted with old programmers and disgruntled traders, the Elephant & Castle is an uplifting, cozy place to have a very 'happy' hour. On several trips there I enjoyed a nice selection of imported beers in a hip setting. They regularly have special promos (Beefeater Girls were there one Friday - hey, it is an English Pub after all) and the crowd is decidely younger and professional. The menu is creative with Englis (hmmm) and American fare. Very cool decor and a nice private party space makes it ideal. But the best thing about the Elephant & Castle has to be its location, right in the central Loop. Get there as early as possible on Friday to get seats! - Antonio Yaniz, 11/06/2001
