Detail for Flying Saucer : Restaurant, Breakfast / Mexican

Menu items include eggs, pancakes, huevos volando, salads, sandwiches, and several vegetarian and vegan options, meat loaf with tomato chutney, tamarind-and-chili-basted chicken; recommended: Bob's Big Bowl. Good selection of Kellogg's cereals. Open Tues-Sat 7:30 am-10 pm, Sun 7 am-3 pm. - sys, 03/30/2006

This updated old diner pays a nod to the past with its Kellog's cereal rack and milk shake machine still intact. A popular breakfast menu offers traditional favorites as well as a few Mexican-inspired dishes. Lunch and dinner items include sandwiches, salads, and vegetarian and vegan options. Meat dishes are made with hormone-free meat, and most can substitute tofu. Nightly specials such as meat loaf and tomato chutney, and the Flying Tofu Bowl which is a combination of spinach, brown rice, and tofu. Outstanding sweets complete your meal. - Alotta, 03/04/2005

10 out of 10. Service, attentive and unobtrusive. Food, terrific with choices for vegans and vegetarians. Decent portions for price, I thought the plate was a little light but it was perfectly filling. Cewl, thoughtful, and conscientious atmosphere... they really walk their talk. Flying Saucer makes you glad that you chose to support them in this world of waste and excess. - anonymous, 08/07/2006
