Located in the former Soul Kitchen spot, the latest restaurant from Francesca's specializes in Italian regional small-plate fare such as squid-ink linguine, octopus salad, and potatoes Calabrese. Full-plate meals also offered. - Alotta, 09/13/2005

The latest addition to the family of Mia Francesca restaurants occupies the former Soul Kitchen space on the corner of North and Milwaukee. Simple Italian favorites include delicious pastas and Margherita pizza prepared in a wood-burning oven. The most expensive entree is around $18, and several small-plate options are available for around $8. Open for lunch Mon-Fri; dinner served nightly. - Alotta, 10/03/2005

Menu selections include chicken and mushroom stuffed pasta ($9), linguine with artichoke and mushrooms ($10), naked ravioli ($9), margherita pizza ($7), pancetta wrapped pork tenderloin ($18), grilled skirt steak ($17), and a daily risotto (market price).

Service / wine selection are very good. Recommended dish: the pumpkin filled pasta ($9) ... portion is not huge, this dish is an excellent choice.

On tap: Allagash Belgian Ale - wm, 11/16/2007

We stopped by and sampled the special of the day: Mahi Mahi Fish-n-Chips, with aioli sauce .. delicious!

Chicago , Francesca's Forno

Decent wine list, with at least 30 options by the glass.

Other menu options include pastas, pizza, and chops. The pork shoulder appears to be the signature meat dish.

Our meal was flawless .. except for the fruit flies which seemed to linger around our water glasses.

The bartender was very personable, she taught us some new words in Polish. - wm, 04/12/2012

The menu was interesting, with dishes from the south of Italy that aren't typically featured. The place is LOUD and some people may be turned off by sitting in front of giant windows. I personally don't care about these concerns... The wine list, though small, offered some interesting Italian choices... The antipasti were great. C. - Chris, 07/31/2006
