One of the best things about Kotobuki was its selection of sakes, including genuine country sake, and the welcoming family who ran it. So sorry it's closed. -Sob.- - Geof, 04/16/2007
This is my favorite sushi restaurant. 21 year veteran Sushi master, 'MAAS,' as he is known to his customers, has been cutting sushi and funny jokes for many years. It is a great local sushi bar, with great specials. He welcomes people personally as they enter, and thanks them as they leave all without missing a slice or a well placed sushimi. There are other Sushi bars on the block, this one is not crowded and not rushed. He is not into 'flashy' stuff, just good Sushi. I see more Japanese people at this place than any other I have been. That says a lot. It is one block north of all the 'hip' places on the block, so if you like great sushi without the fuss, then this is the place. On Friday's and Saturday's it can get a little busy at the main dinner times, but he's working as fast as he can, and it's worth the wait.
