The Community House is celebrating "50 years at Eighth and Madison, a timeless gift to the community" with fun for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 24. All day entertainment includes: Ralph's World Concert, Jazz on the Lawn with Mark Colby, the Jesse White Tumblers, rides and games, giveaways, food, and more! The Ralph's World concert is a highlight of Summer Celebration, with performances at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets for this show are $12. Chicago's Mark Colby, renowned saxophone soloist, is the capstone of Summer Celebration, performing at 7:30 p.m. on the lawn. Colby will perform pieces from his latest and fifth solo album "Speaking of Stan" (Hallway), a tribute to jazz legend Stan Getz, whom Colby knew personally. Colby has performed and recorded with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Jaco Pastorius and Arturo Sandoval, among others. Wine, beer and food will be on sale during the performance. Concert-goers may also bring their own picnics and blankets.
