I have been to many clubs in my life, but have never been subjected to such blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Envy’s mediocre attempt to be exclusive is trite and insipid. There are various other clubs in Detroit that have succeeded in being chic without contriving long lines to draw a crowd. The clubs’ pseudo-waterfall and faux-velvet seating cannot distract from its generic crowd and overpriced drinks. The only thing that can be “envied” about the place is its proximity to the many jewels of Detroit. - A Veteran Clubber, 12/26/2004
