I grew up in the Milwaukee area and when I was a kid my dad always got us corned beef sandwiches from Jakes. Sometimes, on a Sunday I'd go with my dad to get it for the family. It was the BEST! So was the ryebread. While the 'man' was slicing the corned beef he'd always slip me a slice or two. The 1/2 hour ride home was so long, all you could smell was the corned beef. I'm 52 now and have lived in many cities but have never had anything that compared to Jake's. I'm sure you don't need the business but it would be great if you sold 'online'. - Chris Salzer Strommen, 03/12/2003
I live in California now but I lived in Milwaukee two years and around Milwaukee 10 years. Every time I'm in town I have to stop at Jake's to get a Pastrami sandwich---it's the best and I can't get a good pastrami sandwich in California. - Steve Miller 8/25/02, 08/26/2002
