Pho 79 is the best. Treat yourself to the original at about 25th and Nicolett, or really do yourself a favor and make the drive to their location at 280 and Energy Park Drive in St Paul. The food is incredible and the prices very affordable. The Pho is wonderfully sweet, with the freshest add ins. However, the Bun with Spring Roll is the absolute best. I had my first Pho experience at the original Pho 79 in 1995. It is such a delight to have a Pho 79 location close to my house now! The big bowl of pho is always a great deal and excellent tasting! - Wylbur, 01/01/2008
I agree the food is great! The service on the other hand is equally bad! Not just bad, it is awful! Me and my coworkers have dined in or ordered for take out numerous times. At first we put it off to a 'busy' day or short staffed, but without fail ... I mean every time there is some extended delay. When ordering something as simple as Chicken Fried Rice to go they will tell you 15-20 minutes. Fair enough. When I show up 25 minutes later, stand at the counter or in line for another 10-15 minutes and then told that it is't ready yet, time after time, there is a problem. They are aware of the problem and have chosen NOT to address it. We have decided to move on. I would estimate that as about $50 per work week.
