Trip 1: Charged twice for tickets on our credit card. It took time, but was eventually resolved, so we decided to try again. Trip 2: We were charged for extra beers by the wait staff. Figured it was an isolated problem, so decided we try another show. Trip 3: Attended the 10:30 Emo Phillips show and ordered a few drinks for our group. The waitress said she couldnt make change for a $100 bill and that she'd be back with the change. After she made countless trips delivering drinks to other patrons, I asked for my change. When she brought it, it was short $20, so I had to ask for that back as well. I finally had my change just before the end of the show. This was also the show where staff asked a woman at the back of the room to stop laughing. Imagine laughter at a comedy show! The immediate response is that the energy in the back half of the room died, which Im sure the comic appreciated (not!) The woman and her date sat in stunned silence for a while before eventually deciding to leave. Trip 4: Hell will freeze over before that happens. - Not Laughing, 08/18/2007
Sticks Restaurant/Acme Comedy Company offers an absolutely great dinner and show special! $25 (sometimes it's $27, depending on the show headliner) is one of the Twin Cities best dining/entertainment values. The menu is a fresh and interesting array of pasta dishes, appetizers, and entrees including steaks, chicken breasts, Minnesota's favorite walleye, salmon, barbequed ribs, veal and more. The special includes $14 toward your meal, and reserved seating for the evening's stand up comedy show, which always features national headliners.
