I've been to Udapi four times. I've felt just fine, everytime. I really enjoyed the food. A couple of times I've gotten the appetizers plate. I particularly enjoyed the chickpea curry and the various condiments. There's a cilantro/garlic? dressing and some kind of curry condiment which I enjoyed. I wasn't too impressed with the deep-fried puff bread, but I liked the sambar and eggplant curry. Their chapati is excellent (kind of like an Indian tortilla.) I've gotten a Mango Lassi every time. Everything on the menu is vegetarian. The food is quite filling because I ended up drink a lot of water and yogurt to wash down the heavy spices. Be sure and order mildly-spiced food unless you know exactly what you are getting in to. - Christian, 07/29/2003
