I've never had (or even knew what)Cajun food tasted like. I'm so glad I ate a meal that the owners cooked for me -Variety plate with shrimp. WOW!!! I don't even know how to begin to describe how pleased I was with Ross's Hooked and Cooked. Lets start with the decor, hardwood and decorative with an almost spead-easy kinda feel. The staff was attentive, pleasant and helpful without making us feel smotherd or hurried. The food.....the food was incredible. I had the Fried Chicken Dinner. The chicken was unbelievable, deep fried without being the slightest bit oily and seasoned so well I can honestly say I've never had better. I got the chicken with a side of red beans and rice and the best greens ever. My wife had the Seafood Gumbo and I couldn't stay away from it!!! Everything blended so well, the seafood and smoked sausage with the Creole seasonings over rice. I was able to taste every individual flavor, it's what Gumbo should be. Just when I thought it couldn't possible get any better out came the Peach Cobbler. The fragrance hit us befor the pie reached the table, all warmth and peach and cinnamon...there are no words for this perfect way to end our meal. I met the owner Mr. Ross. He was a very nice man and told me that he and his wife did all the cooking all day.
