I too grew up near Hilda's down on Judson..My family frequented their often and my dad new Hilda well. It was sad when she closed down several years ago to retire, and she passed away last month..Very sad, she was one of the finest people and best cooks in my life's memories. I too loved the Gordito and would give anything for the recipe. She will be missed in the Las Vegas valley.. John - John V. Winn, 03/11/2008
I was raised down the street from Hilda's. I am now 51 and have lived all over the USA including California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The only place that has ever come close to having mexican food any better was the old Maverick Club years ago on Las Vegas Blvd N. & Owens, when Mama Delores was alive. Hildas' food is great, friendly atmosphere & decent prices. Try the Gordito! I think Hilda had to invent it! MMMMMMM good! - dancingpaws, 07/27/2007
