Bermuda homes feature roofing which functions as a rain collection system. A typical home might have a 15,000 gallon tank located underneath it. Hotels and luxury homes have water service piped in. Homes are constructed of limestone, and coated with concrete. The roofs are constructed of plywood base, which is topped with limestone slabs and sealed with concrete. WHILE LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND THIS SITE. MORE INTERESTINGLY, I FOUND THIS PHOTO OF THE OLD HOLIDAY INN/CLUB MED. THIS IS VERY SPECIAL TO ME AS I LIVED IN THE STAFF HOUSES PICTURED JUST IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS WHILE THE HOTEL WAS BEING BUILT. I ATTENDED SCHOOL AT THE THEN NAVAL AIR STATION AND ONE OF MY BROTHER'S WENT TO A LOCAL BERDUDIAN SCHOOL DOWN THE ROAD. MY FATHER AND GRANDFATHER



BOTH WORKED ON THIS JOB. BERMUDA 'DEFINITELY' MADE AN IMPACT ON MY LIFE. EVERYTHING SINCE LIVING THERE HAS REVOLVED AROUND 'BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER' LIVING IN BERMUDA! AFTER 35 LONG YEARS OF WAITING I FINALLY MADE IT BACK THERE THIS NOVEMBER 2006. I DID EVERYTHING BUT KISS THE GROUND AND TAKE OFF RUNNING AS SOON AS WE PORTED. I WILL COME AGAIN, AND NOT IN ANOTHER 35 YEARS THIS TIME. THIS IS WHERE MY HEART CALLS HOME; OH IF ONLY I COULD CALL IT HOME PHYSICALLY AS WELL. THANK YOU FOR THIS SITE AND PHOTO.
