phonic:hoop Bar and Restaurant
Located in southern Shinjuku, this bar and restaurant is a great place to wine and dine. We bellied up to the bar and enjoyed the "ree-shu" which is chilled sake (7000 Yen). The bartender seemed to think that the potato wine (sho-chu) was good also (we stuck with the sake).
Menu includes a good selection of appetizers and main dishes (8000-1200 Yen). Music was 80's progressive - we thought it was sub-ah-rah-shee (fabulous)!
Language Tip: The term for chilled sake is "rei-tsu" in many language references; I was told by a local resident that "ree-shu" is how it is pronounced (roll the R a bit!).
